The Escape

Here's the story....
You know those guys in jail that have been there a long time. They start to plan their escape. Okay here is the spoon, slowly they chip away at the brick. They get it out. Then they start digging a bigger whole behind the brick. While the guards appear they put the brick back in its place so that no one is the wiser.

Here is our version....
For the last week this is the way Bell's cage has looked when I have checked on her. Pretty normal, no cause for alarm. Notice the yellow food bowl in the corner. That's pretty normal. She likes to throw her food bowl off the top shelf after she has pulled all the good stuff out. That is where her food bowl has been every time I have checked.

Let's get a closer look at that bowl now to see all of Bell's hard work and the reason the yellow food bowl is in the corner.

Yep there is a giant hole behind the food dish. The food dish is Bell's brick and she has been covering up her good hard work and hoping no one is the wiser. Moments before this picture the food dish was gone and Ashley had bell out and was telling me of this big hole. She put Bell back in the cage while we discussed getting a replacement cage. We went back in to see if she was going to get out and the yellow bowl was covering the hole. That very mischievious RAT.

Ta Da..... Here is the brand new, top of the line, 5 levels, Rat Mansion. Bell is still getting used to her new home and we have added a new chew tunnel and some treats that she can chew on to curb her chewing habit. We are also thinking a new baby rat would be fun to add to this spacious home we now have. They're so CUTE! Anyway, I still have to find out if you can add a baby to an adult one without problems. We will see.
