Our new Pet

Yes, I am such a sucker. Especially for RATS! I used to have one growing up and loved it. We were at the Petco and saw these. At first Ashley wanted a mouse but they were hard to hold. The rats aren't as quick and are better for pets. Ashley is really good with it and holds it gently and pets it nice. She will even clean up any poops that come up. It is a girl and her name is Bell or MaryBell. Mostly just Bell for now.

So here is the funny story. Ashley was sitting on the ground holding it in her lap like the picture. I am sitting next to her to catch it if it tries to make an escape. Courtney starts to get nervous and climbs in my lap. The rat jumped from her pants to mine very quickly and started crawling up Courtney's shirt. She starts screaming and trying to get off my lap. I am trying to get the rat out in the processing we are literally scaring the crap right out of it. I managed to get it out and pull off Courtney's now dirty shirt. I think we have officially traumatized Courtney as far as little furry animals go.
